Academic Advising

Accessibility

Disability Services provides support for students with documented disabilities so they can participate fully in the university environment. Services include assistive technologies, a writing lab, screening and testing and help with accommodations on campus and in courses. Disability Services is located in the Center for Community N200.

Getting Involved

CU Boulder has hundreds of on-campus activities, including more than 300 academic, political, social, religious and recreational organizations and clubs. These groups give you the chance to find your place at CU Boulder by exploring your interests, meeting new people, building your resume and making connections for your career.

Technology

The Office of Information Technology is your point of contact for all of your technology needs which includes both computer hardware and campus systems including Canvas, Buff Portal and email. If you experience a tech issue during business hours, you will get a quicker response by calling their phone number: 303-735-HELP, otherwise you can schedule a Buff Techs Desktop Support appointment.

Textbooks and Library Services

The CU Book Store, owned and operated by the University of Colorado Boulder, is the official store for CU Boulder merchandise in addition to a full range of school supplies and textbooks that are available for purchase or rental.

CU Book Store Select Access

Most textbooks are available in traditional and digital formats through the CU Bookstore. Some courses have digital textbooks that you may be automatically charged for. You can learn more about adjusting your digital textbook selections here or in your course syllabus.

View this three-minute video for tips on how to purchase or rent textbooks. You may charge your books and school supplies to your bill by selecting “CU Student and Tuition Fee Bill” as your payment method during checkout.

Reference librarians are standing by to help you with research and course assignments. They provide in-person assistance, as well as feedback on quick questions via the “Ask a Librarian” instant messaging service.

Norlin Library

Tutoring

Brainfuse is an online tutoring platform that provides students enrolled in Continuing Education online credit courses with live, on-demand tutoring and assignment help in a variety of subjects. Through intentional collaboration, Brainfuse tutors meet students where they are at in order to effectively help students of all skill levels.

The College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of Undergraduate Education offer comprehensive tutoring pages with details on free and fee-based services for specific departments, classes and student populations.You can also view resources relevant to you via the Tutoring & Learning Resources card in Buff Portal.

Writing Help

The Online Composition Hub is a free tutoring service for writing open to students enrolled in Continuing Education courses. The online platform uses tools to help students access experienced peer tutors who provide guidance and review student work.

The CU Writing Center, located in the Norlin Library, Room E-111, offers free assistance with writing assignments including improving clarity and helping with writer’s block and procrastination. Students can schedule remote and in-person appointments.
