New Visiting or Non-Degree Student
A Gateway to the University
Continuing Education is a gateway for individuals to connect with CU Boulder courses and services without formally applying to and enrolling in a degree program at the university.
Visiting and non-degree students enroll in CU Boulder classes year-round for a variety of reasons:
- To earn credit in an online or on-campus course while attending another university
- To test out university life before applying
- To take classes in preparation for an undergraduate or graduate program
- To enhance professional knowledge and skills
- To explore a personal passion or new interest
Continuing Education is the home for non-degree students, whether you are enrolling in main campus or Continuing Education courses.
Visiting and non-degree students have several options for engaging in CU Boulder courses:
- Enroll in daytime, on-campus courses on a space-available basis through the ACCESS program
- Take CE Evening Credit, CE Online Credit, and Applied Music classes through Continuing Education
- Audit main campus or CE Evening Credit courses for no credit
Visiting and non-degree students interested in enrolling in classes with prerequisites should contact an advisor to discuss evaluation of those credits and the process for enrolling.
