Financial Aid for Degree-Seeking Students Enrolled in Continuing Education Courses

Degree-seeking students who receive financial aid may be able to apply that aid to cover the cost of their CE classes. Please work with a financial aid advisor to determine how your aid will apply to your CE bill. Students who encounter academic difficulty due to extenuating circumstances may need to complete a SAP appeal. Self-paced courses are eligible for financial aid on a very limited basis.

Continuing Education has a financial aid advisor to assist you in exploring all the options available to you. Please email cefinaid@colorado.edu for questions and to schedule a time to speak with a financial aid advisor.

Financial Aid for Non-Degree Students

Students who wish to take CU Boulder courses but are not currently admitted to a degree program at the university are classified as non-degree students. Non-degree students are only eligible for financial aid if they take courses for one of the following reasons:

  • Necessary preparation for consideration of acceptance into a graduate program or second undergraduate program (requiring a departmental, graduate or pre-health advisor approval)

  • Teacher Certification or Recertification (requiring an education advisor approval)

For detailed information on financial aid eligibility and required paperwork, visit CU Boulder’s Financial Aid website or email cefinaid@colorado.edu for more information.
