Continue Taking Classes After Graduation
CU Boulder graduates are welcome to return to campus to take classes as a non-degree student after they complete their degree.
Auto Switch from Degree to Non-Degree
If you graduate from CU Boulder one semester, but plan to take classes the following semester as a non-degree student, go ahead and enroll for the upcoming semester. Once your degree posts, your record will be automatically updated to reflect your new status as a non-degree student. No additional application is needed.
Non-Degree Application
If you graduated from CU Boulder more than a semester ago and would like to enroll in classes again, you can do so by completing the Continuing Education application, which allows us to activate you as a non-degree student. You will still be able to earn credit and GPA points, and everything you take will appear on the same transcript as your previous CU course work. If you wish to enroll in main campus classes, you will do so through ACCESS.
Tuition
As a non-degree student, you will pay the published tuition rate for the semester and type of classes in which you enroll. The tuition guarantee that may have applied while you were a degree-seeking student ends after four years or at the time of graduation, whichever comes first.
Financial Aid
If you already have a bachelor’s degree and are taking prerequisite coursework for graduate or professional school admission, you may be eligible for non-degree aid.
