Wilson began learning guitar when he was 10 years old and picked up the banjo his first year of college. He has a diverse musical background having played in a Ska band, a jazz combo, upright bass in the school orchestra and lead and rhythm guitar in the CU African Highlife ensemble. He currently performs with both banjo and guitar in the band Rocktin Grove and a side project bluegrass band. Rocktin Grove has seen growing success playing along the Front Range and in the mountain towns of Colorado. Following graduating in December 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Musicology and World Music, he performs and teaches full time.  Wilson teaches many styles on the guitar including: classical, jazz, pop, rock, bluegrass, and funk. He also teaches clawhammer, scruggs, and melodic banjo styles.

Wilson is a patient, methodical teacher, that will inspire you to work toward achieving your musical goals. He believes in balancing song repertoire with knowledge of theory and musical literacy.
