- Explore issues related to gender and power through, in, and on film from an anthropological perspective in ANTH 4020: Explorations in Anthropology: Gender and Power Through Film
- Investigate the main processes that control weather and climate in the western United States and other mountain ranges around the world in ATOC 4550/5550: Mountain Meteorology
- Investigate the interrelationships of geological, physical, biological and chemical processes found in our oceans in ATOC 3070 and GEOL 3070: Introduction to Oceanography
