Job Summary

The Division of Continuing Education hires temporary faculty for the fall, spring and summer semesters with the working title of Lecturer (Job code 1419) and Faculty retiree (Job codes 1620 – Working PERA Retiree – Faculty and 1621 – Working ORP Retiree – Faculty) for the programs listed below.

Details by Program

Online Credit

Your key responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate classes online.

What We Can Offer

CE Term-Based course compensation — $5,518 – $15,000 (3 credit course)*

CE Online Flexible course compensation — $106.08 – $134.80 per student per credit hour

*Compensation is prorated for courses less than or greater than 3 credits.

A minimum of a master’s degree in the course material.

What You Will Need

Knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to be successful in the role.

Teaching experience or work equivalency to the course material.

What We Would Like You to Have

A PhD or private sector specialization in the course material is preferred.

Evening Credit

Your key responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate classes in person or in a hybrid format.

What We Can Offer

Compensation — $5,518 – $15,000 (3 credit course)*

Applied Music

Your key responsibilities will be teaching music instrument lessons.

What We Can Offer

Compensation — $35.44 per student per clock hour

What We Require

You must be a current College of Music graduate student.

Your teaching appointment must be approved by the College of Music.

Individualized Instruction

Your key responsibilities will be teaching individualized courses and/or supervising student internships.

What We Can Offer

Compensation — $190 per student per credit hour, with a maximum salary of $9,690 (51 credits)

Departmental recommendation and approval.

A minimum of a master’s degree in the course subject.

Masters in Organizational Leadership

Your key responsibilities will be teaching online.

What We Can Offer

Compensation — $5,694 per course

What We Require

Doctorate (PhD, DBA, etc.) related to subject matter to be taught and at least three years of relevant professional experience OR

Master’s degree (MBA, MS/MS, etc.) related to subject matter to be taught and a minimum of 10 years of relevant, professional experience and/or distinction in a related career.

Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health

Your key responsibilities will be providing group and individual tutoring to students enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health program to clarify course content in a manner that supports student learning.

What We Can Offer

$32.24 per hour as a lecturer. $32.24 per hour as a Student Assistant IV (For currently enrolled degree seeking students)

What You Should Know

These appointments are temporary in nature and for one semester only.

Benefits

Temporary faculty (Lecturer) appointments are eligible for accrued sick time. Sick time is earned on a prorated basis, and is calculated at 24 hours of accrued sick time per academic term for full time (100%) appointments or a combination of appointments during the same term of employment.

A combination of appointments of 50% or above for a semester may be eligible for health benefits.
