Extensions for Self-paced Courses
Self-paced course extension policies have changed effective fall 2018. Please read the outlined changes below, which vary depending on when you enrolled in a self-paced course.
Students Enrolled on or before February 23, 2018
You may submit an extension request online. Students enrolled prior to February 23, 2018 will be charged an extension fee of $65 per credit hour. Please be aware you will be enrolled in a separate extension section of the class. You will receive a grade of “W” in the original section of the class and an “I” on your record in the extension section. The “I” grade will be replaced by a letter grade once you complete the course, but the W from the original enrollment stays on your transcript.
Students Enrolled between February 24, 2018 and August 23, 2018
You may submit an extension request online. There is no extension fee for enrollments between February 24, 2018 and end of August 23, 2018.
Students Enrolled in Fall 2018 Onward
Extensions will no longer be available for enrollments on and after August 27, 2018. If you are unable to complete the course by your completion deadline, you need to withdraw from the course to avoid a grade of F on your transcript.
Students with Extenuating Circumstances
If you have at least 50% of the coursework submitted by your completion deadline and documentation of extenuating circumstances, you may file a petition for a two-month extension. The Petition Committee uses the same standards as the main campus and will contact the course instructor for approval prior to granting or denying your petition.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to get your questions answered.
If you are a Continuing Education student with a dismissal hold you wish to petition, please schedule an appointment with an academic advisor.
