Professor Tom Zeiler, History

Tom Zeiler, professor of the history and international affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder, has published on American foreign relations, war, globalization, and baseball. He serves as the Director of the Program in International Affairs. He grew up in Atlanta (thus, a Braves fan even in the dark days of the 1960s-1990s) and went to graduate school at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He created the American History Through Baseball course in 2001, and has taught it at CU-Boulder, online, and abroad in Japan as a Fulbright Lecturer. He has written Ambassadors in Pinstripes: The Spalding World Baseball Tour and the Birth of the American Empire and Jackie Robinson and Race in America.
