Programs: CU on the Weekend
Presented by Erika Randall, Associate Professor of Dance
From audience members to students and even her own mother, many people have remarked to Professor Randall that watching modern dance is hard. “What was that supposed to mean?” and “I don’t get it,” are common quotes echoing in the silences between pieces at many a dance concert. In this 90-minute show-n-tell, Professor Randall will share a brief history of American concert dance, unpack the poetry of Terpsichore, and comically impersonate the dance greats of the 20th and 21st century in an effort to help participants relax and find a new lexicon for watching—and enjoying—modern dance.
No registration required. The presentation is part of CU on the Weekend, which is free and open to the public.
