SOCY 4084 Punishment, Law and Society

Places the current state of punishment in the U.S. in historical and cross national context. Examines key features of penal systems and key sociological theories about the relationship between punishment and society. Recommended prerequisite: SOCY 1001 or SOCY 1004 or SOCY 2044. Same as ETHN 4084.
