FILM 3002 Major Film Movements: Australia and New Zealand Cinema

There are films from “down under” that have attributes from both European art films and American commercial cinema. Occasionally these come together with some added zest and unusual (to our North American experience) locations, characters, and stories. This combination makes for films that have the spirit of independent films yet are much better realized through highly regarded productions, that have acclaimed acting, writing, and directing.

How have they managed to accomplish this with small populations, limited resources and as an unknown quantity in the world market. This class will bring to you these hard to see “Wonders From Down Under” to discover and form your own opinions.

Nothing but an open mind is required, no prerequisites.
