FILM 3002 Major Film Movements: Rock and Roll Film

ABOUT THE COURSE:

ROCK ON FILM

Come on down all you Hepcats and Dungaree Dolls, let’s rock!  Discover the excitement of the birth of Rock and how it was an outlaw, rebellious movement created and performed by people your age but in a very different social atmosphere. This is a time of enormous change in music, films and culture. We’ll focus on the beginnings of Rock to about 1970 when it all  became corporate.

This is an interesting, enjoyable look, at the personalities, (now including a special section on Woman in Rock), music and culture of Rock. We can present this course best and most realistically through film; features, documentaries and an assortment of clips and musical performances. No previous Film Study courses required. Be there or be square Daddy-o !
