New Visiting or Nondegree Student

A Gateway to the University

Continuing Education is a gateway for individuals to connect with CU Boulder courses and services without formally applying to and enrolling in a degree program at the university.

Visiting and nondegree students enroll in CU Boulder classes year-round for a variety of reasons:

  • To earn credit in an online or on-campus course while attending another university
  • To test out university life before applying
  • To take classes in preparation for an undergraduate or graduate program
  • To enhance professional knowledge and skills
  • To explore a personal passion or new interest

Continuing Education is the home for nondegree students, whether you are enrolling in main campus or Continuing Education courses.

Visiting and nondegree students have several options for engaging in CU Boulder courses:

Visiting and nondegree students interested in enrolling in classes with prerequisites should contact an advisor to discuss evaluation of those credits and the process for enrolling.

Now that you’ve selected your favorite Continuing Education courses, email or print the information, including class number, to more easily search Buff Portal and enroll. Still have questions? Contact an advisor.
