Tuition Information for Continuing Education

Thank you for your interest in Continuing Education (CE) courses. We offer flexible options for students to earn CU Boulder credit and strive to be transparent with regards to the cost of these options.

Continuing Education tuition is charged per credit hour, beginning at $480 per credit, in addition to CU Boulder main campus tuition. For example, if you enroll in both main campus courses and a Continuing Education course in the same semester, you will be billed separately for the amount of your main campus tuition and CE tuition. If you are only enrolled in CE classes, you will only receive a bill from CE. If you’re a nonresident and you enroll in more than 4 credits of any combination of ACCESS, Evening Credit, Applied Music, Individualize Instruction course/s you’ll be charged full non-resident tuition.

Tuition Rates

Tuition rates for Continuing Education courses are primarily dependent on the type of course in which you enroll, but may also be determined by your residency and undergraduate/graduate status. Additional fees also may apply. Discounts may be available for University of Colorado faculty, staff, retirees, and Alumni Association members.

For specific rates, refer to the tuition tables by program:

Cost of Attendance

Tuition and fees are just one part of the overall cost to attend CU Boulder. The full cost of attendance for an academic year could include expenses such as on-campus housing and food, books and supplies, and items that are not billed by the university, such as personal expenses, transportation and medical insurance. View the full cost of attendance.

College Opportunity Fund

The College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend is an amount of money given by the State of Colorado to residents enrolled in undergraduate credit courses at a Colorado college or university.

Continuing Education’s Evening Credit, Online Credit, Applied Music, Individualized Instruction, and International English Center courses are not eligible for this stipend. However, the tuition rates for many of these programs are based on the tuition paid by Colorado residents after the COF stipend is applied and may cost students less.

Visit the Continuing Education website to learn more about COF eligibility.
