Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions Format
The Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions program is an intensive, yearlong science “bootcamp.” Students begin their coursework in June each year and complete the program in May the following year.
Students participate in the program as part of a cohort and take all coursework together. Lectures are taken with other CU students while labs and recitations are typically taken with just other cohort members.
An intentional learning community leverages the strengths of the group toward the realization of individual goals. Students benefit from shared academic, emotional, and logistical support provided by the cohort model.
Additionally, cohort members benefit from built-in support including pre-enrollment coursework, individual pre-health advising, workshops on topics such as MCAT Prep, and dedicated tutoring. They also have the opportunity to participate in CU Boulder’s Committee Letter process – an evaluative review which can strengthen one’s application to medical school.
