Designed for Professionals Interested in a Healthcare Career
The Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions Program at CU Boulder is designed for “career changers” who were academically successful as undergraduates and have completed a bachelor’s degree, but have not completed the prerequisite courses needed to apply to medical and other healthcare-related professional schools.
Preferred applicants will have:
- A strong academic history with a bachelor’s degree in a non-science field. Most applicants will have a grade point average of 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) or above.
- Successfully completed pre-calculus mathematics, or the equivalent.
- An informed understanding of the health profession they seek to enter based on extensive and meaningful clinical experience in a healthcare setting, such as shadowing medical professionals, volunteering with patients, or employment in a healthcare field.
- An interest in graduate education in medicine, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, or physician assistant programs.
A relatively young program, Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions Program at CU Boulder is proud of the way it has prepared students for further study. Graduates of the Post-Bacc program have been admitted to medical schools across the nation, including CU School of Medicine, Tufts, Mt. Siani, Tulane, Quinnipiac, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Louisiana State.
