New Visiting or Nondegree Student

Academic Resources

Students enrolled in Continuing Education courses may still access services offered by the university.

Center for Student Involvement

CU Boulder has hundreds of on-campus activities, including more than 300 academic, political, social, religious, and recreational organizations and clubs. These groups give you the chance to find your place at CU Boulder by exploring your interests, meeting new people, building your resume, and making connections for your career.

Counseling & Psychological Services

Professional counselors offer confidential, on-campus mental health and psychiatric services for a variety of concerns such as academics, anxiety, body image, depression, relationships, substance use and more. All students who pay the Student Fee Package are eligible. CAPS is located in the Center for Community S440.

Disability Services

This office provides support for students with documented disabilities so they can participate fully in the university environment. Services include assistive technologies, a writing lab, screening and testing, and help with accommodations on campus and in courses. Disability Services is located in the Center for Community N200.

Math Tutoring

The Department of Mathematics provides drop-in tutoring labs for undergraduates enrolled in math courses at CU Boulder, as well as a Private Tutor List.

Norlin Library

Whether you are taking classes on campus or online, you have access to the Norlin Library books, databases and services as a CU Boulder student. If you have a quick question, Ask A Librarian. For a detailed summary of all of their services, please visit the Norlin Library website.

Online Composition Hub

The Online Composition Hub is a free tutoring service for writing open to students enrolled in CE Evening Credit and CE Online Credit courses. The online platform uses tools to help students access experienced, peer tutors who provide guidance and review student work.

Tutors specialize in helping students with traditional papers, but they can also assist with web design, video, blogging, Prezi, PowerPoint, as well as professional materials, such as resumes, cover letters, applications, and research projects.

Tutors and students share assignments via Google Docs. Students have the option of communicating with tutors synchronously—online at the same time as a tutor and talking via chat, Skype, or Google Hangout—or asynchronously—tutors provide feedback within 24 hours of the appointment time.

Professors’ Office Hours

All instructors hold office hours for students in their classes. We highly encourage you to meet with your instructors at the very beginning of each term–before the class becomes challenging—to make the most of this beneficial opportunity. Instructors for online courses are available to students via email, Zoom, or phone. Please see your syllabus for details.

Student Academic Services Center (SASC)

Many students benefit from Student Academic Success Center (SASC) workshops. SASC offers free small-group workshops to all students, as well as a list of tutors for hire. Many departments also offer free tutoring to students enrolled in courses within their department, even if those courses are offered through Continuing Education.

Student Computing Classes, OIT

The Office of Information and Technology offers courses in Excel, PowerPoint, website creation, and general computer survival. They also offer drop-in and call-in assistance for students experiencing computer issues.

Writing Center

The Writing Center provides free advice on writing assignments. An appointment is necessary, but anyone can have up to 70 minutes of consultation per week. The Writing Center is located in the Norlin Library, Room E-111.

Now that you’ve selected your favorite Continuing Education courses, email or print the information, including class number, to more easily search Buff Portal and enroll. Still have questions? Contact an advisor.
