Global ACCESS

Global ACCESS, the University of Colorado Boulder’s visiting international student program, allows you to enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses at the university and earn credit as a nondegree student for one semester up to three consecutive semesters (i.e. fall, spring, summer).

Global ACCESS students must enroll as full-time students:

  • 12 undergraduate credits in fall/spring semesters
  • 6 undergraduate credits in summer
  • 6 graduate credits in fall/spring semesters
  • 3 graduate credits in summer for graduate courses

To apply, you must complete the Global ACCESS application and supporting enrollment materials. After your application is reviewed, you will be notified via email of your acceptance and we can provide assistance in obtaining an I-20 to apply for a F1 student visa. Once enrolled, Continuing Education will provide assistance with academic advising, housing, insurance, travel information, and more.

If you have questions about the program, contact a Continuing Education advisor. If you have questions about the Global ACCESS application process, contact globalaccess@colorado.edu

Global ACCESS Courses

Academic departments determine which courses are available each term to nondegree students. Our academic advisors can help you select classes based on completed prerequisite courses and your academic goals.

You can view the CU-Boulder course offerings through the guest course search and search by semester and course subject (department). Complete course descriptions are also listed in the University of Colorado Boulder Catalog. The CU-Boulder International English Center offers English language classes. Keep in mind you may need to be flexible in your course selections as courses close or establish a waitlist.

As a Global ACCESS student, you will receive a transcript for the courses you enrolled in at CU-Boulder. Your academic work may transfer toward your degree program at home or to a future degree program. You will need to contact your home university to find out if the credits you take at CU-Boulder are transferable to your degree program.
