Programs: CU on the Weekend
Presented by Leslie Irvine, Professor of Sociology
Most people who live with animals believe that they have some sense of who they are. But do they really have a self, or are we just anthropomorphizing? Sociology Professor Leslie Irvine has studied how our interactions with animals provide evidence of self-awareness. She will discuss what it means when people feel a “connection” with animals and how understanding our shared experience can help us build a more humane world.
No registration required. The presentation is part of CU on the Weekend, which is free and open to the public. Seating is limited to the first 200 people.
