Programs: CU on the Weekend

Presented by Fran Bagenal, Professor of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences/Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics

After decades of planning and a nine-year journey, NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft reached Pluto on July 14, 2015, providing our first close-up view of the Kuiper Belt Object and its five moons. Join Fran Bagenal, CU-Boulder professor and New Horizons co- investigator, for a discussion about the mission and its pioneering journey to investigate Pluto, its moons, and beyond.

Seating for this presentation is limited to the first 200 people. The Fiske Planetarium will distribute free tickets starting at noon on April 30. Doors to the theater will open at 12:45 p.m., and tickets are required for entrance to the theater. No advance reservations will be accepted.

The presentation is part of CU on the Weekend, which is free and open to the public.
